A former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and adopts the alter ego Deadpool.
“Deadpool” marks the beginning of a new era for superhero films, and one sequence in particular was key to setting the tone. This is an in-depth VFX breakdown reel showcasing the behind-the-scenes efforts by the Atomic Fiction team. The work involved creating computer generated characters, vehicles, and an entire urban environment, for the thrilling car chase that kicks off this new franchise!

Luma teamed up with Fox to deliver nearly 200 shots including the scrapyard fight sequence, enhancing the action with dig-doubles, gore, weapon replacements, muzzle flashes and ordnance simulations.
In order to create the gigantic, metallic-covered character Colossuss in ‘Deadpool,’ the filmmakers had to use five different performers (one who was nearly 7 feet tall), and some incredibly detailed visual effects.
