Later this month, Vancouver’s animation community will meetup for another edition of Spark Animation. The program is out and you can expect panels for the biggest projects of the year, a Job Fair and a film festival featuring the best of animation!
Conferences
Some of the top animation companies of the world will be there to talk about their latest project: Disney will present their latest animated feature ‘Moana‘ while Weta Digital will be comparing the different animation approaches used on ‘The BFG‘ and ‘The Jungle Book‘.
Image Engine will also be there to talk extensively about their big start in feature animation with ‘Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV‘! Taking audiences on a guided tour behind the scenes of Kingsglaive, the panel will discuss their team’s 23-minute, fully CG contribution. From CG to compositing, Image Engine will explore how the studio’s many departments worked to deliver Square Enix’ vision to fans across the globe. The panel will also reveal how the Image Engine team worked across cultural borders, collaborating closely with Square Enix’ Japanese department throughout the project.

Film Festival
Speaking about ‘Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV‘: during to the Spark Film Festival you will also have the opportunity to enjoy the movie in AVX for a nationwide premiere at the Scotiabank Theater in Downtown Vancouver! And if you really need another good reason to attend the event, know that all proceeds from this year’s film festival will be donated to charity (Covenant House Vancouver and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocystosis (HLH) Care Fund)!
Job Fair
